Co-Publishing Information

Thank you for your interest in Arrow Publications.

Currently, Arrow Publications offers co-publishing for qualifying authors. Co-publishing is different than traditional publishing, in which the book publisher owns the book and therefore pays for the editing, design, marketing, distribution, etc. Rarely does a publisher pay to have an unknown author's book produced. In traditional publishing, the author receives a small percentage, usually 5-10%, of the net profit from total book sales. Co-publishing, however, opens up the world of publishing to anyone who desires to write a book. Co-publishing means that the author pays for producing his or her book and the publisher provides expertise and distribution. Plus, the author owns the work, so all income after initial costs return to the author.

Simply put, Arrow Publications is a co-publisher. As such, we will review select chapters of your manuscript and, if it is well written, timely and biblically sound, we will arrange to have your book printed at the best available price. Then, for a nominal charge, we will distribute it according to the demand it generates to major Christian distributors, retailers and consumers. As an additional service, we will also ship your books to conferences.

Whether you are an established author or just beginning a writing career, we have provided several tips to help you develop your manuscript. These are generalizations that will prepare your manuscript for review. Whether you use our services or another publisher, these suggestions will help in developing your manuscript and moving it into the production stage without added delays. Basic Facts About Co-Publishing:
The advantage in co-publishing is that you own the book and all its rights. As a result, after paying your fees and expenses, the income from your book sales is returned to you, which can significantly help to support your ministry. You can order as few as 400 books or as many as 5,000 or more depending on your speaking engagements, the demand generated and the help of the Holy Spirit.

By way of example, let’s say you are the pastor of a large church, you travel in ministry and are a strong teacher of certain key subjects. Your books would supplement your conferences and multiply your capacity to truly affect change in the hearts of many people. A purchase of 5,000 books, 144 pages, 6" x 9" might cost you approximately $1.65 each or approximately $8,500 with a four-color cover. That might seem like a lot of money. However, if your book sold for $12.00 each, you would need to sell just 750 at the list price to cover your basic costs. You could ultimately net over $50,000 on the remaining 4,250 books (if they were sold at list price or $20-25,000 if they were sold strictly through distributors. Actual results will vary).

Perhaps you are an intercessor or a storyteller or a housewife who loves kids, and God has given you a vision for writing. During this season of your life, you can’t afford large quantities of books. You can begin with a smaller initial order or maybe with a booklet instead of a book. As stated above, books can be ordered in lots as small as 400 copies. However, small lots mean that fewer books absorb the initial printing setup costs, boosting your per book costs significantly. Still, you could recover your initial costs soon. More importantly, your first work will be in the hands of other people.

Using Arrow Publications secures you a price comparable to that which publishers themselves pay, yet you retain ownership. Our label also gives your book access to distributors, Amazon and other retail outlets. Plus, your book would be listed on our web site, which had over six million hits last year and is growing.

Bear in mind that you would be responsible for the editing and formatting your manuscript along with the cover design, but we do have the names of people who can serve you in these areas as separate contractors. Co-publishing is an investment in yourself and possibly the destiny of God upon your life.
